Earl Scruggs (1924-2012)

Earl Scruggs, born 1924 to a musically gifted family in North Carolina, died at the age of 88 of natural causes on March 30. Most known for his work on songs such as the theme song from "The Beverly Hillbillies", Earl Scruggs also played a major role in the creation of modern blue grass music and is considered one of the founders of American music, putting him in the same category as legends such as Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Chet Atkins,and Jimi Hendrix. Over the time span of his career he gained many accomplishments such as, being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1985, and being the first to be inducted into the International Blue Grass Music Hall of Fame. Rest in Peace to the Bluegrass Great Earl Scruggs 1924-2012.
