Robin Gibb died Sunday at the age of 62, following a long battle with
cancer. He was part of the world famous music group "The Bee
Gees"(Brothers Gibbs) along with brothers Maurice and Berry Gibb. They
defined the disco era with smash hits such as "Stayin Alive","Jive
Talkin", and "Night Fever". These along with other hits can still be
heard around the world. The group began their career in the 1960s but it
wasn't till 1977 when they had success with the soundtrack for
"Saturday Night Fever". The sound was unique and remains instantly
recognizable more then 40 years after it's release. Although the group
had financial success the brothers endured repeated tragedies starting
with the death of younger brother Andy Gibb who died in 1988, after
turning 30, due to an inflamed heart muscle that lead to a severe viral
infection. Later in 2003 Maurice Gibb died from cardiac problems.
Although others died from heart problems Robin Gibb took care of his
health and was a vegan who didn't drink or smoke at the time of his
death. He and his brother are remembered through their music and
families with over 200 million records sold and a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
And not to mention Robin's work with talents such as Barbra Streisand,
Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, and Dolly Parton. Robin Gibb is survived by
his wife and four children as well as his mother and older brother Barry
Gibb, also a sister Lesley Evans.
